Hello and thank you for taking the time to visit the Dickinson Web site.  My name is Steve Pinto, one of the assistant directors of admissions and a proud graduate of the Dickinson College class of 2000!

As you make your way through your search, we want you to know that everyone in the admissions office is here to help you make sense of the journey that is the college application process.  This process can be both incredibly fascinating and incredibly stressful. You will be challenged to think about yourself and the world around you in ways you probably haven’t yet as you meet new people, travel to different college campuses and discuss what is important to you in interviews, in essays or even in casual conversations.  And that is where my colleagues and I come in. We are here to give you advice on how you can best advocate for yourself, how you can get to know Dickinson and most importantly to help you figure out whether Dickinson is the right place for you.

At Dickinson I found everything I was looking for and I know that it was the right place for me.  I received a global education, I engaged in hands-on research and community service, and I had opportunities to be a leader in student government and to volunteer for organizations that work with children. I also became an avid reader during my time here! I found a second home at Dickinson and in Carlisle and I hope that someday you will be able to say the same thing about your college experience.

While I look forward to traveling to and working with students from Maryland, Delaware and the southern states of Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, Louisiana and Alabama, I enjoy hearing from anyone, so please be in touch!

Be sure to explore our Web site and don’t hesitate to engage with our faculty, students and staff. I wish you all the best over the coming months and I hope to meet you on campus or during my travels.

Take care,
Steve Pinto '00
Assistant Director of Admissions

P.S. As an avid reader I also welcome any book recommendations or discussions!
