One of the hallmarks of the Dickinson experience is one-on-one interaction with faculty members and personalized attention throughout students’ four years. NSF-STEP gives pre-first-year students a taste of how beneficial and motivational that can be. The faculty mentors devote time working with the participants in the lab, on fieldwork excursions, in the classroom and beyond.
Participants are part of a cohort of science students who meet regularly with a mentor from the science faculty during their first two years. This science mentor/advisor will assist students with scheduling and making the adjustment to college and to Dickinson.
