Shania Boynton
Hometown: Baltimore, Md.
Major: Economics
Favorite Aspects: The study-abroad programs and the intellectual conversations that can take place anywhere, at any time, with anyone.
Words of Wisdom: Make sure you are grounded within yourself, and that you are comfortable with your identity. Enjoy life and the experience that it will bring; be happy, laugh too much, and never settle!

Tiffany Mane
Hometown: Corona, NY
Major: American Studies, Major Concentration: Comparative Race, Ethnicity and Education
Favorite Aspects of Dickinson: The opportunities students have to study abroad and do research in wherever their passions lie.
Words of Wisdom: Don't let anyone define you or your experience here at Dickinson, i.e. be willing to try new things even if they seem scary or different. Don't feel bad if you try something new and don't like it. That's the beauty of having so many organizations on campus! You can test things out without ever having to commit yourself to anything one hundred percent. Most importantly seek to find new interests, passions and skills that will remain with you even after your experience here. That's how I've made my experience at Dickinson unique and great.
Activities: Vice President of the Portuguese Club, Historian for the African American Society, Silent Poets
Devy Emperador

Everett Lasher
Hometown: Edinboro, PA
Major: Geology
Favorite Aspects of Dickinson: There is a difference between the word diversity and actually experiencing it. At Dickinson, you have the opportunity to experience diversity everywhere you go. It’s great to be able to walk around, and talk to people from different countries, get an opinion from someone who lives in a completely different culture and speaks a different language. It’s global diversity at its best.
Words of Wisdom: Relax, engage, study, and most importantly, have fun!
Activities: Campus Life, Liberty Cap Society, Geology Society of Dickinson College, Ultimate Frisbee
Carlos Rivera
Hometown: Bronx, N.Y.
Major: Political Science
Favorite Aspects: To be part of a diverse campus is great. It allows every individual to learn about different cultures and different perspectives on important issues that they would not otherwise have been exposed to. I was drawn to Dickinson for its rich diversity and am proud that I am able to be a part of the growing diversity on campus.
Words of Wisdom: Stay focused and avoid procrastination.
Activities: Posse, Sustained Dialogue, UMOJA, LAS, Salsa.
Jess Baverman
Hometown: Atlanta, GA
Major: History and Women's Studies double major
Favorite Aspects of Dickinson: One of my favorite aspects of Dickinson is the people I have met through the organizations. I am a member and one of the board members for both the feminist group and the queer group on campus. Through my involvement in these organizations, I was able to figure out where I fit on a campus that I had assumed would be very homogeneous. Instead, I found that the campus is more diverse than I had imagined. I was pleasantly surprised to find active queer and active feminist communities on campus, both of which I was drawn to immediately, and through which, I have met my closest friends.
Words of Wisdom: Don't be concerned if you don't find what you're looking for at first glance. Take another look and maybe you'll see something different. The best thing you can do to meet people on campus is join organizations.
Activities: Feminist Collective, Spectrum, President's Commission on Women, Liberty Cap Society

Favorite Aspects of Dickinson: One of my favorite aspects of Dickinson is the comfortable learning environment it offers. I also enjoy my opportunity to learn more about the world we live in.
Words of Wisdom: Be who you are and say what you feel. Because those that mind don’t matter, and those who matter don’t mind (Dr. Seuss). My personal words: take full advantage on what Dickinson has to offer you, consume yourself, mind, body and soul because it’s worth it!
