Sarah Masland-Fatherree

Hello and welcome to Dickinson College! My name is Sarah Masland-Fatherree, and I am an assistant director of admissions here at Dickinson.

Growing up in Carlisle and as a child and grandchild of Dickinson alumni, the college has always played an important role in my life. At an early age, I saw firsthand the many benefits of a liberal-arts education, and I can say with great confidence that this exposure to the Dickinson community had a profound impact on my life.

I began my professional career at a large advertising agency in New York City. After absorbing as much as I could from the big city, I chose to return to central Pennsylvania (home sweet home) to continue to develop my career in marketing with work for clients such as The Hershey Company.

While I enjoyed my time in each of these positions, I had the desire to work for an institution with a deeper and more significant mission in which I could be fully invested. This desire continued to grow and ultimately led me back to Dickinson, where I now have the opportunity to promote the many distinguishing characteristics of the school that is so near and dear to my heart.

As your regional counselor, I am here to help you learn more about Dickinson’s distinctive qualities, including our comprehensive approach to a global education, the importance of pragmatism in our liberal-arts curriculum as well as the unique historic qualities of our community. I have an acute understanding of what you are going through during this phase of your life and will work closely with you to determine if Dickinson is the right fit!
