Peer Advisor Position Description

The Peer Advisors will:

•    Assist students so they can make informed decisions and locate information related to academic programs 
•    Provide support in three areas of focus: 
              •    academic requirements 
              •    academic resources 
              •    articulation of curricular options 
•    Coach and prepare students for meetings with advisors


Qualifications: Currently enrolled students with at least one year as a Dickinson student. Qualified for work study preferable. Basic computer skills, Banner and search skills. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality. Ability to absorb and communicate clearly detailed information. Ability to broaden student perspectives without marginalizing or attempting to mold student decisions into a particular perspective. Careful listener. Problem solver. Interested in academic programs.
