How should you choose a major? How will this choice affect the value of your education? The rest of your life? Join key members of the Dickinson community for a lively discussion of these questions. President Durden will offer his perspective on the value of a liberal arts education in the 21st century. Jeffrey Figurelli, accomplished alum and onetime English major, will reflect on how the interests and training he developed at Dickinson translated into life opportunities on Wall Street and beyond. Professors from Divisions I, II, and III will work with a Panel of Undeclared Students (live and onstage) to explore the decisions ahead and how best to prepare for them. Finally, Phil Jones, Dickinson’s new Dean of Career Development will close by reflecting on the event’s proceedings and outlining next steps for students.
After the program, audience members, presenters and advanced students from each major will have an opportunity to continue the conversation over refreshments in Rector Atrium.
