Alumni Greetings and Departmental News

Welcome back!
Lots of changes have taken place this semester already. Some of you may or may not be aware that Professor Todd Wronski will be abroad in the Norwich program for the next two years. We wish him well and are hopeful for a safe return in the Fall of 2013. With Todd abroad, that left us with a Theatre position open. Professor Jon Liebetrau, who has been with us as an adjunct professor for several years, will assume his position, directing and teaching responsibilities. Jon is a resident actor at the historic Totem Pole Playhouse where he performed roles in Moonlight and Magnolia, and Hank Williams' Lost Highways. In the spring of 2011, he performed in August: Osage County at Open Stage of Harrisburg. And, he has performed at Allenberry Playhouse. Please welcome Professor Jon Liebetrau to the department!
Sherry Harper-McCombs, once again, spent the summer with the Greenbrier Valley Theatre in West Virginia, accompanied by student intern; Lauren Brennan. Karen Lordi-Kirham directed Sweeny Todd and Les Liaisons Dangereuses in Saranac Lake, New York for the Pendragon Theatre, assisted by student intern Kathyrn Rother. Sarah Skaggs has been diligently working on a 9/11 Dance: A roving Memorial that will take place in New York, Shanksville, Pa and Washington D.C. simultaneously. Dawn Springer is back as she begins her second year as Post Graduate Fellow in Dance. Dawn was in residence at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia teaching in the Pre-College Dance Institute. Also, she participated in a choreographic residency assisted by student; Emie Hughes. Her piece, Dreams of Flight, was performed in the Philly Fringe Festival this summer. Professor Stewart Benjamin Farrar was busy welcoming the new addition to his family; Theodora Farrar. Congratulations to Benjamin and his family. Jason Newdrow, our Technical Director was busy as Stagehand this summer at the Majestic Theater in Gettysburg, Totem Pole Playhouse in Chambersburg and the Luhrs Center at Shippensburg University.
The class of 2015 will be arriving any day now, followed quickly by auditions, and before you know it, the whole craziness that you all remember so well will be underway once again. Join us for the production of Much Ado About Nothing, or the dance concerts, or The Arsonists in the spring, or all of the above! We look forward to seeing you again soon.
Have a great semester!
Jenny
