Russian Dinner 2011

On Monday, April 4th, more than fifty students gathered in the Depot to celebrate Russian culture at the annual Russian social dinner. Attendees were a mix of Russian students, their friends, and interested members of the Dickinson community. Organized by the Russian Club and department faculty, the menu included beef stroganoff, pirozhki, blini, and homemade borsht, which was prepared by members of the Russian club the day before. Barynya, a Russian music group from New York, was invited to perform for the evening, and those who attended found them to be very entertaining. Students were invited on stage to dance and participate with the band. Senior Gilbert Bonafe '11 was particularly brave, volunteering to be the "lazy guy" portrayed in one Russian folk song. The dinner was once again a success, and everyone is looking forward to next year.
