Community of students and faculty

As one of the Russian alumni had noted,

"The Russian Department is a perfect example of why a Dickinson education is so amazing. The students and faculty in the department have become a second family for me. The professors take an active interest in their students, and they care as much about our growth and happiness in general as they do about our development as students of Russian. The older students add to this familial atmosphere by looking out for the younger students and offering advice. The work is challenging, but that is precisely why it is so rewarding. When I graduate, I will have gained more than the knowledge of a second language and culture; I will have a group of people whom I will always consider part of my family."
