Law & policy (LAWP) and policy management (PMGT) are the two majors students can pursue within the policy-studies program.
- Law & policy majors focus specifically on how law is made, interpreted, and applied. LAWP majors often go on to law school and end up practicing law in the private sector or working in government agencies.
- Policy-management majors focus more generally on how policy problems arise and how they are best addressed. Some PMGT majors go on to law school, but after graduation, most begin working in government agencies, in the nonprofit sector, or in a variety of private-sector career paths (e.g., policy consulting, wealth management, marketing, public relations, etc.).
