An accompanist will be provided for vocal auditions; vocalists may, however, bring their own accompanist. Voice auditions with recorded accompaniments will not be accepted.
Should you wish to sing with a Dickinson College accompanist, please label the envelope “Voice Audition” and send copies of the music at least two weeks prior to your audition to Prof. Lynn Helding. Accompanists cannot be guaranteed if music is received less than two weeks in advance.
If you are unable to audition in person but wish to send a recording, submit your work through SlideRoom (accessed through the Common Application for Dickinson College).
General information about auditioning for the Dickinson College Department of Music, including information on audition results and financial aid, is located on our main Auditions page.
Vocal Audition Repertoire
Prepare two songs or arias in contrasting styles from operatic, or art song repertoire, in contrasting languages. Of these, one piece must be in English. Musical theatre repertory (both in English) is also acceptable. Please do not send jazz, pop, or rock vocal styles.
