The major in mathematics at Dickinson College is designed to provide a balance between applied and theoretical mathematics. The curriculum not only provides students with the tools needed to analytically solve a wide range of cross-disciplinary problems, but also to communicate clearly. Working individually and in teams, computer-science majors apply their knowledge of the foundations of the discipline to an array of current technologies such as Java and network programming. Students in both programs graduate ready to excel at the jobs of today and to create the careers of tomorrow.
