The German Department Gartenfest 2012

 Gartenfest 2012-1a

 German students and faculty gathered to bid farewell to seniors and to recognize student achievements in the study of German at the German Department's annual Gartenfest. The April 23rd event was graciously hosted by President William and Dr. Elke Durden at their home.


 Senior Prizes for Excellence awarded to:

 The Heinrich Böll Prize - Samantha Claussen

A cash prize awarded to a senior student majoring in German for excellence in the study of German literature.

The Marion Dexter Learned Prize - Nicole Couturiaux

A cash prize awarded to a senior student majoring in German for highest achievement in the study of German language and culture.

The Wieland Endowed Prize - Julie King

A cash prize awarded to a senior student majoring in German who has demonstrated the most excellent achievements in the field of German overall.

Urkunde (Certificate) for Outstanding Class Achievement

Each year, one student in each German class receives an Urkunde (Certificate) for outstanding achievement. Professor Kamaal Haque, Professor Edward Muston, Professor Antje Pfannkuchen, and Adjunct Professor Todd Bryant presented certificates to Emily Fineberg, Sydney Moffat, Justin Reamer, Ailin (Kia) Pipkingabay, Karina Rabinowitz, Nguyen Le, Anna Ciriani Dean, Douglas Murray, Lucia Darrow, Heather Geist, Julie Ashton, Michael DeVivo, Jennifer Rokoski, and Geo Nikolov
