Eco-Reps Program

Positions Open for Fall 11' - Spring '12 
Applications due to sustainability@dickinson.edu by 5pm April 29th 
 
The Center for Sustainability Education is looking for 24 Eco-Reps (2-3 hr commitment per week). Preference will be given to students who can make a full-year commitment. but those studying abroad in either Fall or Spring are encouraged to apply.

What is an Eco-Rep?: An Eco-Rep is a sustainability representative and mentor for a residence hall that educates his or her peers about sustainable living habits. Eco-Reps is a nationally recognized program at many top liberal arts schools. If you want to get involved with sustainability on campus, help Dickinson lower its carbon footprint, and build your resume, this position is for you! 

 
 
About the Position: EcoReps are a leadership team on campus that create and manage programming in the residence halls around issues and ideas of sustainability, and work to foster sustainable behaviors and change on campus.  EcoReps have access to a programming budget for creating new projects, improvements, and programs in the residence halls, the ability to advance their own education about sustainability, and direct connection to the sustainability staff on campus.  EcoReps must commit 2-3 hrs per week and complete at least one volunteer semester before becoming eligible for compensation.  EcoReps are given first priority for paidSustainability Internships in the Center for Sustainability Education.  EcoReps must be able to return to campus for training and leadership development beginning August 21st, 2011.
