Green Campus
A campus is "green" when its facilities are efficient, its energy and resource use is low, and its community members are engaged in personal behavior change. Dickinson College takes leadership on food, energy purchasing, waste management, building, landscaping, and transportation to create a physical campus with a responsible environmental footprint.

The campus is also a place for interaction - these policy, planning, and purchasing areas are available to students and staff as tools for research and inquiry. >>READ ABOUT THE LIVING LABORATORY Engaging students, faculty, and staff in a culture of action and behavior is the second focus of our green campus. The Office of Campus sustainability leads this initiative by creating residential and campus life programs around issues of personal values, behavior change, and the creation of a vibrant physical community.
The Office of Campus Sustainability works to incorporate concern for the environment into every aspect of campus life and operations. To enable the college to reduce its environmental impact, the sustainability coordinator acts as a liaison between campus operations and faculty, students, and staff in creating a lasting culture of sustainability by encouraging lifestyle changes through education and awareness and assisting all departments within campus operations towards the most environmentally aware operations possible.
