John is a member of the President's Staff and is a Senior Officer of the College. He is responsible for developing and managing all programs and policies pertaining to Human Resources, including training and development, organizational development, recruitment and employment, performance management, employee relations, compensation and benefits, HRIS and workers compensation. He also is the liaison for the President's Support Staff Forum.

Arlene is responsible for planning, project coordination and efficient operations to meet current and future business needs within HR Services and the organization. She oversees the employment process, job opportunities, health benefits, HRIS, leaves of absence, disability, retirement, employee relations, performance management, progressive counseling and conflict resolution. She works with college staff, applicants and vendors to ensure consistent definition and delivery of services. Jeanette coordinates and assists with scheduling events for employee recognition and the employee professional development and wellness programs. Specific annual employee recognition programs include Winterfest, the Recognition Luncheon, the Summer Picnic and the Seniors of Old Bellaire dinner. Management of the department's budget, assistance with the development and coordination of Board of Trustee materials, HR Services website maintenance, and coordination of HR Services print/email communications cover other areas of her responsibility. She participates in the monthly Navigating Dickinson Orientation program, giving the campus tour. Tammy welcomes everyone to HR Services at Dickinson as the first point of contact to applicants, newly hired employees and community members! Her duties include assisting with staff recruitment, scheduling interviews for applicants, and processing employment verifications, assisting with advertising and posting of open positions, processing annual performance reviews, and assisting with the registration process for the professional development and wellness programs. Bernadette coordinates employee benefits, including our health/dental/vision insurance plans, COBRA, and Health Advocate. She is the tuition program liaison officer, overseeing the Tuition Remission, Tuition Assistance, and the Tuition Exchange program. Her other areas of responsibility include Worker's Compensation and coordination of the annual Benefits and Wellness Fair.  She also presents the employee benefits information during the monthly sessions of the Navigating Dickinson Orientation program. Steve develops, manages, and coordinates all aspects of our Professional Development and Wellness programs for employees. He is instrumental in facilitating the President's Leadership Institute programs for personal enrichment, management development and leadership development. He acts as the liaison for employee focus groups and facilitates customized divisional training programs upon request. Key components of his responsibilities include Navigating Dickinson – the new employee orientation program, and Navigating Dickinson for Supervisors . Steve is the contact person for any new programs offered for personal enrichment, professional development and employee wellness.

Michelle administers and maintains the Human Resource Information Systems (SCT Banner) with employee information, and develops adhoc inquiries and data extracts. She prepares the payrolls. Michelle's other responsibilities include processing unemployment claims; HR Services web page development; overseeing the homebuyer program; processing administrative relocation reimbursements; assisting with H visas and foreign visitors; and wage and salary benefit surveys.  Contact Michelle with questions relating to the Banner employee information/payroll system, or the homebuyer program and administrative relocation reimbursements.

 


Dora Thomas

Dora assists all employees with the retirement program application process, and the retiree medigap and Emeriti programs. She also coordinates the continuing education benefit for support staff employees. Her other duties include posting open positions, assisting with staff recruitment, scheduling interviews for applicants, processing employment verifications, and assisting with FMLA.
