Raven's Claw Tappings


The Raven's Claw honorary society welcomed seven new members into its fold during its 2010 tapping ceremony.

Each year, outgoing members of the all-male, senior society elect seven new members from the incoming senior class during a Commencement-weekend ceremony. The incoming White Hats—so nicknamed because of the iconic caps donned by Raven's Claw members—are chosen on the basis of campus leadership, academic record and athletic participation.

  • In the tapping ceremony, outgoing members place their white cap on incoming members' heads. The caps signify not only the inductee's new membership, but also unity and loyalty among Raven's Claw members.
