Posse Graduation

When they first arrived on campus in December 2005, members of Dickinson’s second Los Angeles Posse (LAII) and sixth New York Posse (NY6) could not imagine the many challenges and rewards that lay in store. “None of us expected that, as persons coming from so many different walks of life, we had the potential of coming together and forming the irreplaceable bonds we now share,” said LAII member Delia Gutierrez ’10, addressing fellow members during the 2010 Posse Graduation ceremony. “I am proud to look upon your faces today and warmly acknowledge how much each of you has [been] transformed.”

The Saturday-morning Posse Graduation ceremony noted the accomplishments of the graduating LAII and NY6 Posse members and acknowledged the administrators, faculty members, family and friends who helped guide these scholars throughout their journey at Dickinson. Representatives from each Posse spoke to an audience of Posse members, fellow Dickinsonians, family members and friends, and a representative from The Posse Foundation presented each graduating scholar with a Posse diploma, an engraved business-card holder and a key representing the many doors of opportunity that are now open to them.
